Hi. I’m Debbie. You probably know me from some specific point in time and place in life, but maybe you just stumbled across my little journal here. Here’s a few things you can know about me.
I’m 56 and currently live in Ohio with my 3 kids, 3 dogs and 2 cats. My husband, Greg, of 21+ years unexpectedly passed away in August 2025. Our kids were 20, 18 & 14 at the time. First day of school for our Senior. Nothing could have prepared us for this event and we are still learning how to live and breathe every day without him here.
I love Coffee. A lot. Iced cold with sweet cream or steaming hot with oatmilk and a few pumps of sugar-free caramel syrup. I’ll even drink it somewhere in between.
I lived in Alaska for 8 years during my childhood. Very formative years. I grew up with Inuit fables and legends between gloriously large mountains and a beautiful inlet where “Sleeping Lady” (Mount Susitna) still waits for her lover to return. (My love of fairytales and mythology continues to this day).
I believe in Jesus (NO fairytale here) and am currently struggling to walk with Him daily – find my footing? get my feet under me? Basically, I feel quite unsteady and like I am learning how to walk again. It’s nice to know that Jesus is patient and walking with me every trembling step I take. Curious? Start here.
I don’t like to cook but I do love to bake.
I don’t like to get hot but I LOVE to be at the beach (even at Lake Erie!).
I love both cats and dogs and would rescue them all if I could.
I am thought to be an extrovert but I REALLY need my quiet downtime.
Bird watching is a recent hobby I shared with my husband. Hummingbirds are my favorite, but Baltimore orioles rank right up there, too.
I am SO grateful for the ability and foresight that many people had to develop air conditioning and am grateful I was born during the time it exists.
